Ruddi, Jade, Rory, Rocco and Ali have completed the Charity Walk For Peace – London 2017. The Team completed the walk on Sunday 14th of may 2017.
The Walk was a Huge Achievement for Ruddi and he was supported all the way by friends and family.
It is expected that over a quarter of a million pounds was raised through the walk and the expectation is that over £750,000 will be collected by the end of the year, with all proceeds to be paid to the charities later this year.
The Charity Walk for Peace is an 8km walk through London and is full of London landmarks. The event helps to promote peace for all and is very popular with both young and old. The events Attendance was recorded at over 4000 men, women and children.
The event was arranged with over 800 volunteers who worked tirelessly over many months in its preparation. Widely supported by ministers, a range of cross-party parliamentarians and faith leaders the theme for this year’s walk was ‘A Walk in Pursuit of Service to Humanity.’
During the inaugural ceremony, various special guests and dignitaries addressed the attendees of the charity walk including; Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, Cllr Lynne Brown MP for West Ham, Ian Larnder Borough Commander, Newham Cllr Ken Clarke Deputy Mayor of Newham and Cabinet Minister for Community.
